Dangerous Goods Management presents this 1-day Dangerous Goods course which is approved by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (Civil Aviation Rule (CAR) Part 141).  Personnel responsible for shipping of infectious and biological substances by Air as per IATA DGR Section 1.5 and in accordance with CBTA approach for function 7.1

Target audience:
– This course is designed for shippers of Infectious and Biological substances by Air – Category A & B.
– Students will be exposed to class exercises and case studies, practical shipment and document exercises and a final (theoretical/practical)
assessment.

Key topics:
–  Confidently apply the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR)
–  Understand shipper’s and operators’ responsibilities
–  Identify and comply with state and operator variations;
–  Classify infectious substances, dry ice, and diagnostic specimens
–  Understand and apply the information contained in the list of dangerous goods( IATA DGR, section 4.2);
–  Apply the general packing requirements and specific packing instructions;
–  Correctly mark and label the package;
–  Complete a shipper’s declaration for dangerous goods by air freight and the applicable portion of the air waybill.

Documentation required:
Attendees to this course will be required to show a form of photo ID at the course (driver’s license, passport or 18+ card).  For Dangerous Goods Management to comply with CAA Part 141 Accreditation, we are required to retain proof of identity for students undertaking training.  This will be copied on arrival and retained in our training records for auditing.

– Detailed workbook, pen and paper will be supplied
– Refreshments and lunch (please advise if attendee has any specific dietary requirements)
– Free on site parking

Course renewal:
A Shippers of Infectious Substances by Air Course certificate, endorsed by IATA and CAA of New Zealand, is awarded to participants on successful completion of this course.    This course certification is valid for a 24-month term.  To retain certification training is to be completed between the
22nd and 24th month of certification.

Assistance:
Please advise our team (in confidence) before the start of the course of any physical or learning difficulties you, or in the case of employers, your employee, may have e.g. impairments with mobility, visual, hearing and/or speech, or difficulty in reading and writing. If trainees have difficulties during the course they should not hesitate to talk to our training team.

Cancellation/transfer terms:
–  Should a course transfer be required, this will be provided free of charge for the first transfer only, ensuring advised prior to 7 days before the course.  All subsequent transfers for a course booking will result in a $50+GST administration fee under the same conditions.  Course attendance must be completed within six months of the initial booking.
–  Cancellations or course transfers made on or after 8th January 2025 will be subject to a $150+GST cancellation/transfer fee. Cancellations/transfers within 48 hours of the course date or non-attendance, once registered, without notification will incur full course cost.
–  DGM endeavor to ensure all courses proceed, however we reserve the right to amend or re-schedule any course offered.  Should re-scheduling of a course become necessary, participants will be informed as soon as possible to minimize any inconvenience.
